Alexey Ivanov presented his new novel in Nevyansk.
Writer Aleksey Ivanov presented his new novel "Nevyansk Tower" in Nevyansk. The meeting with the author of the new book was held in a museum located near the famous leaning Demidov tower, the EAN agency reports.
Ivanov said he had visited Nevyansk many times and had climbed the tower on more than one occasion, which had always attracted him. He said that before the meeting with readers he did so again. "I thanked it for its help," Aleksey Ivanov admitted.
The tower, incidentally, is currently under renovation.
The novel's main character is the Plant — all of the Plant's workers are its slaves, both the ordinary workers and its owner, Akinfiy Demidov, EAN writes.
According to Ivanov, he had always wanted to be a writer since early childhood. As an adult he found his school notebook titled "Alyosha Ivanov" containing a "novel" he had begun, "Three Robinsons." He had signed the cover at age six.
The writer said the theme of his new novel will also be connected to the Urals. The novel will be devoted to an expedition by Russian scientists to the Ilmen Range (now the oldest mineralogical reserve in Russia, with the richest deposits of minerals, located in the Chelyabinsk region) in pre-revolutionary times to discover deposits of gemstones. As in many of the author's other works, it will include a mystical element.
