The Lenin District Court of Yekaterinburg delivered a verdict in the criminal case against Ivan Bovykin, who on August 5, 2024, while riding an electric scooter, struck a 42-year-old woman. While operating the electric scooter and traveling on the sidewalk along Kuybysheva Street in the direction of 8 Marta Street, he failed to choose a safe speed and knocked the woman down, who as a result of the fall onto the asphalt suffered a fracture of the right ankle in two places and other injuries. The woman was hospitalized from August 5 to September 13, 2024. An expert assessed the injuries as having caused serious harm to her health. The Lenin District Court of Yekaterinburg sentenced Ivan Bovykin to one year of restriction of freedom. In addition, the convict was ordered to pay the victim 150,000 rubles in moral damages and 140,000 rubles in property damage as lost earnings.
