The third private medical center in Yekaterinburg has refused to perform abortions starting in 2026.
December 27, 2025 — Another, the third to date, medical center in Yekaterinburg has refused to perform abortions. This concerns the private clinic Harmony, which has been operating in the medical services market for more than 30 years and specializes in male and female reproductive health.
The decision to remove termination of pregnancy from the list of services was made by the clinic’s management due to the worsening demographic situation, explained the director of the Harmony medical center, Candidate of Medical Sciences and obstetrician-gynecologist Leonid Khayutin.
The service of induced termination of pregnancy will be unavailable to Harmony patients from January 1, 2026.
“One of the priority areas of our center’s activities is the treatment of infertility using high-tech methods, including assisted reproductive technologies.
In view of the worsening demographic situation, the institution has made a balanced, socially responsible decision to refuse to perform induced termination of pregnancy, confirming its commitment to the values of preserving life, motherhood and the family,” Fourth Channel quotes Khayutin as saying on Telegram.
At the same time, Harmony specialists will provide rehabilitation services — accepting women after abortions performed in public hospitals.
“At the Harmony medical center, rehabilitation programs for women have been developed aimed at restoring a woman’s reproductive function after any gynecological interventions,” the clinic explains.
Earlier, two other long-established private clinics — Shans and the Yekaterinburg Medical Center — announced they would stop performing abortions from the beginning of 2026.
