The driver of a Lada Kalina caused a head-on collision on a Sverdlovsk highway and died at the scene.
On a highway near Nizhny Tagil, a 49-year-old driver of a Lada Kalina crossed into the oncoming lane, causing a head-on collision with an Opel Meriva. As a result, he died, and a passenger in the foreign car was seriously injured, the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Sverdlovsk Region reported.
"The Lada was traveling from the direction of the village of Petrokamenskoye; while overtaking, the driver lost control and collided with an oncoming Opel Meriva," the traffic police clarified.
It all happened at the 35th kilometer of the Nikolo-Pavlovskoye — Petrokamenskoye — Alapaevsk highway.
The driver of the domestic car died at the scene before medics arrived. The owner of the foreign car was unhurt, and his passenger was hospitalized. The traffic police launched an investigation.
Earlier it was reported that a 10-month-old child was injured on the Perm tract due to the fault of a reckless driver in the oncoming vehicle.
