At Koltsovo Airport, a cleaner stole a belt worth 55,000 rubles from a passenger and gave it to a colleague.

      The transport police of Koltsovo Airport in Yekaterinburg have exposed the theft of an expensive branded belt. A criminal case has been opened against an employee of one of the cleaning companies. The woman is suspected of stealing a trouser belt worth 55,000 rubles, the press service of the Transport Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry for the Ural Federal District reported.

      According to the agency, on December 18 the transport police were contacted by a 25-year-old resident of Yekaterinburg. She explained that on December 4 she had flown to Yerevan and during pre-flight screening had left the belt in a special container. She noticed the disappearance only when boarding the flight, but the item was not found in the baggage tracing room.

      “During the investigation, officers identified a suspect. She turned out to be a 65-year-old employee of the cleaning service working at the airport,” the agency said.

      It was specified that on the day of the incident the woman was in the screening area of terminal “V,” where she took the belt forgotten by the passenger. Later she decided to give the find to her colleague.
