In the Urals, a 19-year-old snowmobile rider was arrested for driving drunk without a license.
A 19-year-old local resident who was operating a snowmobile while heavily intoxicated was detained by traffic inspectors in the settlement of Levikha in the Kirovgrad district during a preventive operation, the State Traffic Inspectorate of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region reported on Sunday.
During their conversation with the driver, the inspectors established that he had never undergone driver training and, consequently, did not have a driving license. Moreover, the young man showed obvious signs of intoxication.
A breath test showed a record-high concentration of alcohol in exhaled air — 1.101 mg/L.
Traffic police on site drew up an administrative report against the offender under Part 3 of Article 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (operating a vehicle while intoxicated, without a license).
The snowmobile was placed in an impound lot, and the man was taken to the Kirovgrad District Court. After reviewing the administrative materials, the judge ordered administrative arrest for 10 days.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that a snowmobile is a motor vehicle, and that to operate it one must hold a license of the appropriate category. Handing the controls to a person without a license and being at the controls while intoxicated are serious violations.
