In the Urals, a court banned the film by a teacher from Karabash that won an "Oscar."
The Chelyabinsk Central District Court has banned the screening of the film "Mr. Nobody Against Putin," directed by Pavel Talankin from Karabash. This was reported by 66.RU.
The lawsuit was filed by the Deputy Prosecutor of the Chelyabinsk Region, as reported by Human Rights Council member and journalist Marina Akhmedova.
The court's press service confirmed to 66.RU that the prosecutor's lawsuit was fully satisfied, and the film "Mr. Nobody Against Putin" is prohibited from distribution in Russia. It had previously been published on three Russian platforms.
In March of this year, "Mr. Nobody Against Putin" won an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature.
It discusses the changes that occurred in Russian education after 2022.
According to the prosecutor's office, the film expresses a negative attitude towards the state authority and the president following the start of the special military operation, writes 66.RU.
Without revealing his true intentions, while working as a teacher, Talankin filmed children during patriotic education classes for school needs in Karabash and later used the collected archive abroad without parental consent.
Members of the Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation sent a request to the Oscar organizing committee and UNESCO demanding an investigation into the film.
The day before, on March 25, during a meeting of the Council for Culture, Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded that the Ministry of Culture prevent "completely stupid and unnecessary" foreign films from being screened.
