In the Urals, patients were tortured at a private drug clinic, which was promoted by rapper Guf.
March 26, 2026. A criminal case on charges of torture and illegal deprivation of liberty has been initiated by investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia against employees of a rehabilitation drug center in Sysert.
As reported by "Komsomolskaya Pravda - Yekaterinburg," a branch of the federal network of drug clinics "Svoboda" is located in Sysert, with rapper Guf (Alexey Dolmatov) as its "face."
Previously, several patients died at the Kemerovo branch of the clinic. Dolmatov publicly refused to cooperate with the organization after the incident, the publication writes.
In Sysert, a criminal case has been opened under Articles 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (torture) and 127 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal deprivation of liberty) following reports of unlawful actions against patients by employees of the specified private clinic.
"The media reports on unlawful actions by employees of the rehabilitation center near Yekaterinburg against patients. The latter were forcibly held on the premises of the institution, causing physical and psychological suffering," the Investigative Committee of Russia stated. The head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, has already requested a report on the progress of the investigation from the head of the regional Investigative Committee, Bogdan Francishko.
The prosecutor's office also intends to assess compliance with legislation in the clinic's activities, having begun its own inspection.
The most notorious case of a patient's death in the rehabilitation center was the death of the all-Union famous actor Dmitry Maryanov in 2017. Maryanov, who was being treated in a closed rehab for alcohol dependence, felt unwell, but the head of the institution forbade calling an ambulance for the actor. As a result, he died after some time.
Such institutions have been dubbed "torture chambers" in the media. The activities of one such institution, which "treated" "difficult" children and teenagers, were uncovered at the end of last year in Yekaterinburg.
