A resident of the Sverdlovsk region gave birth to her twelfth child while being a grandmother.
A resident of Kamyshlov, Lilia, gave birth to a son, who became her twelfth child, the Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk region reported.
The baby, weighing 2400 grams and measuring 49 centimeters, was born in Yekaterinburg. The boy was named Konstantin. His older brother, who was born on the same day but 19 years earlier, came up with the name for the youngest. Now, in Lilia's large family, there are 4 girls and 8 boys.
Since after 11 births, according to obstetric protocols, the patient is classified as a high-risk group, she was planned to be hospitalized in February, first in Kamensk-Uralsky, and then transferred to the Regional Perinatal Center for a cesarean section.
"Thank you very much to all the specialists for my little son. He was born the smallest of all, and despite my extensive experience, I was even afraid to hold him on the first day," Lilia said.
"The unique mother prepared as responsibly as possible for the exciting event: early in her pregnancy, she registered at the women's clinic of the Kamyshlov Central District Hospital, timely followed all the doctors' recommendations, underwent screenings, and attended consultations," the Ministry of Health reported.
It is noteworthy that Lilia has been a grandmother for three years: her eldest daughter, who is now 24 years old, gave her a granddaughter. And Lilia's own mother currently has 26 grandchildren.
