The main pedestrian street in Yekaterinburg is set for a major reconstruction.
In Yekaterinburg, a large-scale reconstruction of Vainera Street will begin. The landscaping project is under the control of the first deputy mayor, Rustam Galyamov.
As reported by the city authorities on the Telegram channel "Yekaterinburg Main," the street surface will be updated: granite slabs will be laid instead of the existing pavement. A drainage system from the roofs is also planned to avoid water accumulation during the off-season.
Greening will be done in planters—this is due to the engineering communications beneath the surface, which do not allow for planting trees in the ground. Additionally, as part of the project, the facades of buildings will be put in order, and outdated advertising structures will be removed.
Similar work will also be carried out this summer on Pushkin Street, which will also be made pedestrian-friendly.
