The son of Shikhlinski was sentenced for violence against a law enforcement officer during the arrest of his father.
On April 9, 2026, the court hearings in the case of the former head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the Urals, Shahin Shikhlinski, and his son Mutvaly took place in the Kirov District Court of Yekaterinburg, reports "Ъ-Ural". This concerns the use of violence against a law enforcement officer in July 2025 near the Baku Plaza shopping center.
The criminal case, initiated under part 2 of article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of violence against a representative of authority), is being considered in a closed session, as the victim is a representative of the FSB, writes "Ъ-Ural".
The accused Mutvaly Shikhlinski expressed regret about what happened but did not admit guilt. The prosecutor requested 9 years of imprisonment for both defendants, a source told the publication.
Recall that Shikhlinski Sr. was in the car driven by his son Mutvaly. When special forces officers began to pull Shahin out of the car, the son started to reverse and knocked one of the officers over with the open door. The victim fell on his back onto the asphalt. The driver claimed that he unintentionally hit the special forces officer out of fear, as the capture group was armed and began to smash the car windows.
Earlier in early March, the Kirov District Court sentenced Shahin Shikhlinski to 22 years in a strict regime colony in another criminal case concerning the murders and attempted murders of representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora.
