In Yekaterinburg, they asked to remove the benches from Vainera but to leave the media screen.

      The head of the Lenin district, Elena Beruashvili, proposed the initiative to remove benches from Vainera Street. In her opinion, along with them, marginal groups will also disappear. Her words were reported by the port 66.RU. As an example, she cited Nikolsky Avenue in Moscow, noting that there are no benches or trash cans there, which helps maintain cleanliness.

      Beruashvili stated that she is discussing this issue with the city's mayor, Alexey Orlov. The idea is to turn the street into a transit space without places to rest—this, she believes, will reduce the likelihood of antisocial behavior.

      At the same time, the official emphasized that the media screen on the street should be kept: she likes it, especially when music is playing, and it can also be used for advertising. She added that the screen serves its purpose.

      Furthermore, Beruashvili thanked the administration for closing the "PivKO" store on Vainera, but noted that the problem has not completely disappeared, as other alcohol sales points are still operating on the street.

      Deputy Alexander Kolesnikov, for his part, suggested involving law enforcement in resolving the situation. He expressed himself quite harshly, stating that such people should be dealt with by the police, not the community.
