The chief epidemiologist of the Sverdlovsk region spoke about who is entitled to free vaccinations.
From April 24 to 30, the World Immunization Week will take place. At today's press conference at TASS Ural, Alexander Kharitonov, the chief freelance epidemiologist of the Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region, spoke about who can get vaccinated for free and against which diseases.
In the Sverdlovsk Region, vaccinations are provided for free to:
- conscripts (against pneumococcal infection, meningococcal infection, chickenpox, and influenza);
- pregnant women in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters against influenza, as well as revaccination against whooping cough;
- elderly people against pneumococcal infection;
- children from 15 months old (3 initial vaccinations) and elderly people who have not been vaccinated before (1st and 2nd vaccinations) against tick-borne encephalitis.
Funds are also allocated from the regional budget for vaccinations in certain localities against hepatitis A and dysentery (especially in flood-prone areas).
