Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded medals of the Order "For Merits to the Fatherland II Class" to UFC champion Petr Yan and three boxers from the RCC club during a ceremony at the Kremlin. This was reported by "Ъ-Ural."
Petr Yan, representing the Yekaterinburg club "Archangel Michael," received the award from the hands of the Russian president for his personal achievements.
The head of state noted the contribution of the Ural athlete to the development of physical culture and sports.
Vladimir Putin also presented awards to RCC boxers Vsevolod Shumkov, Dzhambulatu Bijamov, and Sharabutdin Ataev, who made significant contributions to the success of the Russian national team at the boxing world championship held in December 2025 in Dubai (UAE).
The Sverdlovsk athletes won three gold medals at the tournament (out of 7 medals of this merit, 5 silver and one bronze, earned by the Russian national team at the World Championship).
All four were awarded medals "For Merits to the Fatherland II Class."
The president toasted with a glass of non-alcoholic champagne with everyone present at the ceremony, as reported by the Urals Federal District representative office.
