In Yekaterinburg, future police officers were shown a colony for repeat offenders.
A tour for future police officers at IK-2 (Yekaterinburg) was held on Thursday, April 23, the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region reported. The students were given a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the peculiarities of the functioning of the correctional institution.
This visit became an important stage in the professional training of future police officers, allowing them not only to theoretically master the basics of the criminal enforcement system but also to see it in action.
"Work in correctional institutions is an integral part of the overall system of law and order and security in the country," emphasizes the Federal Penitentiary Service.
During the tour, future law enforcement officers were able to observe the daily life of inmates, the work of staff in ensuring law and order and security, as well as familiarize themselves with the conditions of detention and resocialization programs.
Particular attention was paid to issues of human rights compliance in places of deprivation of liberty and the role of penal system employees in the process of rehabilitating inmates and their subsequent reintegration into society.
The experience gained will allow future employees to approach their professional duties more consciously, understanding the complexity and responsibility of working in the penal system.
"These are not just abstract concepts from textbooks, but a living, complex reality that requires a person not only to have knowledge but also to possess endurance, psychological resilience, and the ability to find a balance between demandingness and humanity," the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service states.
