The former head of the Sverdlovsk hospital for veterans of wars was awarded the title of "Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation."
Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the title of "Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation" to Ural doctor Semyon Isaakovich Spektor, who headed the Sverdlovsk Regional Clinical Psychoneurological Hospital for Veterans of Wars for many years.
The title was awarded for special labor merits to the state and the people, reported the governor of Sverdlovsk region Denis Pasler on his channel in MAX.
Along with Doctor of Medical Sciences Shlema Itzkovich Spektor, four other individuals were awarded the title of "Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation" by the President's decree for their special labor merits to the state and the people, including actress Marina Neelova.
"Semyon Isaakovich is a unique person with an incredibly complex yet inspiring fate. Having gone through the hardships of wartime and the horrors of occupation, he chose to dedicate his life to helping people.
In the Sverdlovsk region, Semyon Isaakovich established himself as a doctor and headed the Sverdlovsk Hospital for Veterans of Wars from 1973 to 2005. He performed thousands of surgeries, saved many lives, and even at an advanced age continues the work of his entire life," the governor writes.

The governor noted that such professionalism is an example for future doctors, today's students.
