A memorial plaque in honor of the rock band "Agatha Christie" will be installed in Yekaterinburg on Radio Day, May 7, reports 66.RU.
The plaque will be placed on the facade of the Institute of Radio Electronics and Information Technologies (formerly the radio faculty of UPI). This was announced by guide Svetlana Tolmacheva and confirmed by the press service of UrFU.
From open sources, it is known that Vadim, one of the founders of the band, the Samoilov brothers, graduated from the radio engineering faculty of the Ural Polytechnic Institute (UPI). It is reported that he studied in the specialty "Design and Production of Radio Equipment."
Before "Agatha Christie" appeared, Vadim Samoilov organized the VIA RTF UPI in 1984. His first ensemble was created while he was still in school in the city of Asbest, along with participants Vadim Samoilov, Alexander Kozlov (the future composer of the "golden" hits of "Agatha Christie"), and Pyotr Mai. Vadim's younger brother, Gleb Samoilov, joined "Agatha Christie" later and became one of the frontmen of the band, as well as the author of the music and lyrics of its songs.
The opening of the memorial plaque in honor of the band "Agatha Christie" will be the central event of the Radio Day celebration and is also timed to the 40th anniversary of the Sverdlovsk Rock Club and the Year of Ural Rock. The idea for the plaque's design belongs to the veteran of the Ural rock movement, Oleg Rakovich.
