The "Alatyr" shopping mall in Yekaterinburg will change its concept without halting operations.
The "Alatyr" shopping mall in the center of Yekaterinburg will change its concept. It will not only change externally but also functionally by 2027, reports 66.RU.
The owners want to move away from the classic shopping mall format to a multifunctional one: the share of retail space will decrease, while the areas allocated for food establishments, services, and offices will increase.
The lower floors (from the basement to the third) will remain retail galleries. The 5th floor will host a network of "smart" offices and coworking spaces SOK (founded by billionaire Igor Rybakov - note from Uralweb.ru). The 7th, 8th, and 9th floors will feature traditional offices.
The intermediate space between retail and office will include a food court and a cinema (sharing the 4th floor), as well as a fitness center (located on the 6th). The trampoline park will move to the minus 1 floor.
The reconstruction of the shopping mall is already underway, without halting its operations, reports 66.RU.
Externally, "Alatyr" is also set for changes. The final version of its appearance has not yet been determined, and several options are being considered.
A number of solutions are also planned for the adjacent territory, aimed at making it greener and more pedestrian-friendly.
The main changes to "Alatyr" are planned to be completed by the end of this year by the mall's owner, SKM Development. The plans for the changes were first announced in the fall of last year.
