      The gypsies spotted Vitaly in January at the train station square in Nizhny Tagil. The couple introduced themselves as Misha and Sveta and offered him a job as a janitor. Before this, Vitaly was getting by with shifts and odd jobs and did not have his own housing. Shortly before the events described below, he also lost his passport.

      They decided to discuss the employment details over a drink. The gypsies got her brother drunk until February, simultaneously persuading him to marry a gypsy woman and then go to the SMO, Kristina said. "They said, after all, you don't have a family anyway," the man's sister told the news agency.

      After receiving a new passport in early February, Vitaly, along with his new acquaintances and a woman named Rada Artamonova, went to the Tyumen region, where he registered his marriage and signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense almost on the same day. His wife disappeared immediately after the wedding ceremony, likely returning to her home in Tver.

      The bank card issued to Vitaly at the military service selection point was linked to someone else's phone number. As a result, strangers calmly accessed the online bank for several months and withdrew all deposits to Vitaly's card: combat pay, salary, and daily allowances.

      By the end of February, when the man finally gained access to his accounts, there were 3 million rubles missing from the card. Since the duplicate card was also with the fraudsters, the money withdrawal operations only ceased in mid-April. A total of more than 3.5 million rubles was stolen.

      Learning about everything too late, Kristina filed complaints with the police and the prosecutor's office of Nizhny Tagil, requesting an investigation, to sort out the theft of funds, and to recognize the marriage as fictitious. The police are currently conducting an investigation, and the prosecutor's office has forwarded the materials to their colleagues in Tver. Vitaly himself is in the area where the SMO is being conducted.
