Villagers revealed who will take care of the girl whose family perished in a terrible fire in the Sverdlovsk region.
In the village of Lensky in the Turinsky District of the Sverdlovsk Region, residents have announced a fundraising campaign for the funeral of a large family that perished in a fire. The tragedy occurred on the morning of May 4 in a private house on Kirova Street.
In the fire, a 35-year-old woman and her four children - two daughters and two sons - lost their lives. As local residents reported, alarm bells were raised after the mother did not go to work at the local school, and the children did not attend classes. A colleague who came to the house smelled smoke and called the firefighters, but no one could be saved.
The situation is worsened by the fact that just three weeks ago, the head of the family died in a car accident. Only the 14-year-old daughter remains alive, who has been undergoing treatment in Yekaterinburg since autumn. It is expected that the girl's grandmother will take custody of her, as reported by "Komsomolskaya Pravda - Yekaterinburg."
— The girl has had a very hard time coping with her father's death, and now she has lost her entire family. Katya (name changed) has a grandmother on her father's side, who is her closest relative. She will most likely take the girl into her custody, local residents shared with the media.
After the incident, local residents appealed to their fellow villagers for help in organizing the funeral for the family.
A criminal case has been opened regarding the tragedy. Investigators are considering several possible causes of the fire, including electrical wiring malfunction, careless handling of fire, and smoking in the house.
