In Yekaterinburg, a preventive measure was chosen for the head of the drug enforcement department of Nizhny Tagil.
The Lenin District Court of Yekaterinburg considered the investigator's petition for the selection of a preventive measure for the head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Nizhny Tagil," Arthur Belykh.
According to the preliminary investigation authorities, the police lieutenant colonel, a fighter against drugs, is accused of participating in an organized criminal community, the press service of the Sverdlovsk region courts reported on Friday.
Belykh is charged under part 3 of article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Organization of a criminal community or participation in it, committed by a person using their official position), and paragraph "e" of part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Abuse of official powers, out of mercenary or other personal interest).
The preventive measure has been chosen in the form of detention for a period until June 15, 2026. The ruling will come into legal force in 3 days if not appealed by the parties.
"The officer was well-regarded, showing very high detection rates for drug-related crimes," noted one of his interlocutors in a conversation with the E1.RU portal.
It was previously reported that the detention of the law enforcement officer may be related to the liquidation of the local organized crime group "Fortuna," and that the leaders of the "90s" group have begun to testify. Belykh could have been their "roof," suggested one source in law enforcement in a conversation with E1.RU.
