In Yekaterinburg, the names of the stops will be changed again.
In Yekaterinburg, several public transport stops in the Verkh-Isetsky and Leninsky districts will be renamed. The decision was made by the city commission on toponymy under the leadership of the first deputy mayor Rustam Galyamov.
Thus, the bus and tram stops "Uralcable" will receive a new name - "Nagornaya." The city hall explained that this is related to the relocation of the production workshops of the "Uralcable" plant to other districts of the city.
The new name was chosen after the nearby Nagornaya street - one of the oldest in Yekaterinburg. It appeared in the 18th century during the construction of the Verkh-Isetsky plant and has retained its historical name to this day.
In addition, changes will affect part of the "Yasnaya" stops. The points near the intersection of Yasnaya and Sheinkman streets will be renamed to "Institute of Physical Culture." At the same time, the stops at the intersection of Yasnaya and Academician Bardin will retain their previous name.
The city administration notes that the renaming will help passengers better orient themselves and avoid confusion when traveling on public transport.
