In the Sverdlovsk city, young "Dzerzhinets" from the entire region will be raised.
A bust of the founder of the Cheka (the prototype of modern counterintelligence) Felix Dzerzhinsky was unveiled on the shore of the Chornoistochinsky pond, reports v-tagile.ru. The solemn ceremony was attended by the grandnephew of Iron Felix, Vladimir Dzerzhinsky.
The sculptural depiction was placed on the territory of a sports and patriotic camp being built on the site of the former health camp "Chaika" by the efforts of the head of the charitable foundation "First," city council deputy Dmitry Kostenikov, and his like-minded associates.
The parliamentarian purchased the territory with the support of local businessman, director of the company "Tagilspetstrans" Andrey Ivanov in 2023. Currently, the readiness of the facility is about 80%, writes v-tagile.ru.
On his page on "VKontakte," 40-year-old Kostenikov reported that his foundation is the conduit for the "Dzerzhinets" movement in the Sverdlovsk region.
The new camp is envisioned as a center for patriotic and spiritual-moral education of teenagers, where they will come for gatherings from all over the Sverdlovsk region. In Nizhny Tagil, Dmitry Kostenikov is also the coordinator of the military-patriotic center "Vympel."
