As established by the court, in the fall of 2025, the man lost 18,000 rubles and decided to hide this from his spouse. To do this, he hid his personal belongings in a park area and contacted the police with a statement about an alleged attack and robbery against him.
Despite a warning about criminal liability for false reporting, the applicant insisted on his version of events. He described the fabricated crime in detail and even participated in the crime scene investigation, showing police officers the location of the supposed attack.
During the investigation, law enforcement established that no crime had occurred. Surveillance camera footage and other materials completely disproved the man's account. After this, he confessed that he had invented the robbery in an attempt to explain the disappearance of the money.
As a result, a criminal case was initiated against the applicant himself. The court sentenced the man to one year of conditional imprisonment with a probation period of one year.
