A passenger in a "Priora" died in a collision with a truck on the Yekaterinburg - Kurgan highway.
One person died, and three others were hospitalized in serious condition after a traffic accident involving a Lada Priora car and a Scania truck with a semi-trailer, which occurred on Saturday afternoon, June 6, on the 104th kilometer of the federal highway "Yekaterinburg - Shadrinsk - Kurgan," reported the State Traffic Inspectorate of Russia in the Sverdlovsk region.
As a result of the collision between the passenger car and the truck, the passenger of the Priora, a 39-year-old man sitting in the right rear seat and not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene before medical personnel arrived.
The driver of the Lada and two other passengers, aged 26 and 31, were hospitalized with serious injuries.
According to preliminary data, the driver of the Lada, a 49-year-old resident of the city of Verkhnyaya Pyshma, was driving from the direction of Kurgan towards Yekaterinburg at an unsafe speed, as a result of which he lost control and entered the oncoming lane.
The State Traffic Inspectorate has established that the total driving experience of the Lada driver is 29 years. He has been held administratively responsible for violations of traffic rules 4 times.
The driver of the Scania was a 44-year-old resident of Barnaul, with 16 years of driving experience. He has been held administratively responsible for traffic violations 23 times. A breathalyzer test showed a negative result for alcohol intoxication.
A breathalyzer test for the driver of the Priora will be conducted at the medical facility where he was hospitalized.
