A teacher from a Yekaterinburg technical school took bribes while hiding under a female name.
In the court of the Railway District of Yekaterinburg, a teacher from the Ural Railway Technical School, Yuri Cherkashin, was fined for receiving bribes. This was reported by the press service of the Sverdlovsk Regional Court.
— The educator was found guilty of systematically receiving bribes from students for assistance in passing exams and preparing graduation qualification works. The court found Cherkashin guilty of committing 15 crimes under the article "Receiving a bribe by a public official." He was fined 1.5 million rubles. The former teacher is also prohibited from engaging in educational activities for 4 years, the court noted.
The court established that Cherkashin took money from students from December 2023 to June 2024. The teacher solicited bribes for allowing students to take tests, for solving exam questions, and for supervising diploma projects. In total, the man received 180,000 rubles. For concealment, he used a messenger account with the female name "Elena Urgups." Earlier, in Yekaterinburg, an investigator for particularly important cases was arrested due to a bribe.
