Residents of Yekaterinburg have started receiving suspicious messages from military enlistment offices.
In the Sverdlovsk region, scammers have started deceiving the relatives of deceased participants in the special operation. This was reported by State Duma deputy from the Sverdlovsk region, Maxim Ivanov, on his Telegram channel.
— I received an alarming message from the daughter of a deceased participant in the special military operation, a military medic from Asbest. We helped the family find out the fate of the award, to which, according to the applicant, her father was posthumously nominated. After contacting the military prosecutor's office, it turned out that the information about the award was confirmed. The documents are being processed, and this is not a quick process, — the deputy wrote on his Telegram channel.
However, scammers contacted the family, posing as employees of the local military enlistment office. They claimed that the award was already ready, sending a photo of the "For Military Merit" order.
— The image of the award and the documents associated with it in the photo differs from the actual "For Military Merit" order. Moreover, the family is expecting to receive another award — the posthumous Order of Courage, — the deputy added.
In the Asbest military enlistment office, the Sverdlovsk resident found out that she was not the first one to be contacted by the scammers. Under the pretext of processing awards, the fraudsters are extorting money and passport details from Ural residents. Earlier, we reported that in the Sverdlovsk region, scammers are mass trying to steal accounts from social media users.
