The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to present a report on the progress of the investigation into the criminal case initiated due to the improper maintenance of a multi-apartment building in Irbit, Sverdlovsk region.

The building in question is from 1929, located on Oktyabrskaya Street. According to the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the building has been in an emergency state for a long time: the foundation and walls are deteriorating, the structures have rotted, and cracks have formed in the ceilings.

As early as 2008, the physical wear of the building was estimated at 60%. At the same time, the management company, as residents claim, has not actually ensured the proper maintenance of the building, and major repairs are only planned for 2029. Despite numerous appeals to various authorities, the residents have not been able to resolve the issue.

In connection with the incident, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region has initiated a criminal case. Bastrykin instructed the head of the regional investigative department, Bogdan Francishko, to report on the progress and results of the investigation, as well as on the measures being taken to protect the rights of the residents.
