The court terminated the criminal case against the former head of the Sverdlovsk Road Administration due to an award for participation in the special military operation.
The criminal case against the former head of the road management department of the Sverdlovsk region, Vyacheslav Danilov, accused of receiving a bribe, has been terminated. The decision was made by the Oktyabrsky District Court of Yekaterinburg, reports "URA.RU" citing the court registry.
The court hearing took place at the beginning of this week. Danilov participated via videoconference from the court in the LPR, where he is serving in the military, reported "URA.RU" by the former official's lawyer Alexey Ognev.
"We filed a petition for exemption from criminal liability due to him receiving a state award. The court reviewed the documents and decided to terminate the case," said Danilov's defender.
Ognev did not specify which award his client received.
Vyacheslav Danilov was accused of receiving a bribe of 12 million rubles, reminds "URA.RU". The criminal case was initiated under part 2, part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Receiving a bribe by an official, in a particularly large amount).
The official was detained in September 2023. At the early stage of the investigation, he admitted his guilt. It is believed that Danilov's testimony formed the basis of the criminal case against the former Minister of Transport of the Sverdlovsk region, Vasily Starkov (who also left for the SVO).
At the end of 2024, Vyacheslav Danilov signed a contract and went to the area of the special operation.
In February 2025, the Kirov District Court of Yekaterinburg sentenced Starkov to 6.5 years in a strict regime colony and a fine of 40 million rubles. The prosecution requested a 9-year sentence for the former minister with confiscation of property.
Recall that earlier, due to state awards received during the SVO, the former head of the MUGISO, Alexey Pyankov, avoided criminal punishment. A total of 7 people ended up in the dock in the "MUGISO case."
