Former mayor of Serov Vasily Sizikov received a letter of appreciation from the governor, reports "Ъ-Ural". The head of the municipality was previously dismissed from his position due to a loss of trust.
The letter of appreciation was presented to Sizikov by the secretary of the regional branch of "United Russia," Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Denis Pasler, for his "significant personal contribution to the development and strengthening of the party's role" in the municipality and his active participation in the activities of the Serov local branch of the association.
The award ceremony took place in front of 202 delegates at the 45th conference of the regional branch of "ER," held at "Yekaterinburg-Expo," according to "Ъ-Ural".
In 2025, the Serov prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit demanding Sizikov's removal from the mayor's post. The reason was violations of anti-corruption legislation identified by the supervisory authority, specifically undeclared income that he intended to invest in the purchase of an apartment.
The Serov District Court granted the city prosecutor's request and prematurely terminated the powers of Serov's head Vasily Sizikov due to a loss of trust. The decision was upheld in an appeal being considered by the Sverdlovsk Regional Court.
