In the main forest park of Yekaterinburg, the restrooms are consistently out of order.
Visitors to the Shartash Forest Park in Yekaterinburg are complaining about the lack of functioning toilets. According to locals, all paid sanitary points in the park are closed.
The problem is particularly acute on weekends when the park is visited by hundreds of vacationers, athletes, and families with children. Visitors have to look for alternative options, including "going into the bushes."
Residents note that for one of the most popular recreation areas in Yekaterinburg, the lack of accessible toilets creates serious inconveniences and spoils the impression of visiting the park.
Interestingly, there are new toilets! They are located at the entrance to the park from Vysotsky Street, as well as near the "Extreme" beach. Access to them is via a bank card and costs 25 rubles.
However, all the toilets have notices stating that the toilet is not working. Warnings have been hanging on the toilets at the entrance to Shartash for more than a year.
Last Wednesday, during the hot weather, people randomly managed to access (for a fee via card) one of the restrooms. But the scene was unpleasant: the toilet was completely filled with waste.
We would like to send our officials on a tour of the toilets at the city beach of Lake Turgoyak. Such clean public toilets can never be found in Yekaterinburg.
As the director of the forest park, Natalia Salmina, informed us, in the summer, due to the influx of visitors, the load on the toilets increases. The installed water tanks are not designed for such a high volume of use.
As a result of their overflow, there is a need for forced closure of the toilets for pumping and servicing.
— The institution's budget only allocates funds for the planned cleaning of these facilities. Cleaning more frequently than the established schedule is not feasible due to the lack of additional funding. The park administration is taking all possible measures to minimize such situations.
