On June 25, 2026, a life coach who kidnapped a woman from Yekaterinburg and her father for about 10 million rubles will be tried in the Ural capital, reports the media relations department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Yekaterinburg. According to the investigation, under the guise of psychological consultations, a 34-year-old local resident was engaged in fraud.
In February of this year, a 30-year-old woman from Yekaterinburg filed a complaint with the police. The complainant reported that she had become a victim of fraudulent actions by a psychologist-numerologist. As the victim explained, about a year ago, she met a woman through mutual friends who practices various psychological, bioenergetic, and other methods, and also helps people correct their fate.
The new acquaintance explained to the girl that her mental state left much to be desired and that she needed to work on herself. Otherwise, she would face an inevitable deterioration in her condition and even death. From that time on, the victim began to consult her regularly for a fee.
The fraudster told the client that she was supposedly acquainted with a Tibetan monk and could arrange a consultation with him. Soon, the "monk" indeed contacted her through messages on social networks. Communicating with the "Tibetan" required serious financial expenditures, but the fraudster convinced the victim that if she did not agree to the services of the "bioenergetic," health problems would soon arise for her father.
Despite intensive training in "money thinking," the victim's finances soon ran out. Additionally, she accumulated debts on loans, from which she was paying the "psychologist." The victim wanted to refuse the latter's services, but she persuaded her to consult with a lawyer acquaintance. He, also through social networks, strongly advised the girl to continue the "consultations."
As investigators later established, both the Tibetan monk and the lawyer were fakes created by the suspect to maintain her influence over the client. She herself wrote to her ward from various numbers and accounts.
There is also information that the suspect advised the client to go abroad for work. Since the victim had previously engaged in singing and had performance experience, she went abroad and got a job as a singer in a karaoke bar. She also transferred her earnings to the "psychologist." As a result of the financial success training, the woman from Yekaterinburg lost about 8.5 million rubles. Due to money problems and constant stress, the victim suffered a nervous breakdown. Realizing that she was being deceived, she contacted the police.
Additionally, a complaint against the suspect was filed by the victim's father, who reported that under the pretext of helping his daughter, the coach had kidnapped 1.5 million rubles from him.
When the criminal investigation officers detained the suspect, it turned out that the woman was not employed anywhere, lived off consultations, and also took out microloans en masse from various organizations. She advertised her services through a blog she maintained on a social network banned in Russia.
She partially admitted her guilt and compensated the victims for damages amounting to one million rubles.
Currently, the criminal case under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud on a particularly large scale," which was investigated by the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Yekaterinburg, with an approved indictment, has been sent to the Academic District Court for substantive consideration. The accused has not been previously prosecuted.
