Both suspects in the attack on bus passengers have been arrested in Yekaterinburg.

      In Yekaterinburg, two individuals accused of attacking passengers on a city bus have been taken into custody, reports the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region. This refers to an incident that occurred on June 6 on bus route No. 64 (Kompressor - Michurinsky).

      The charge of committing a crime under part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism committed by a group of individuals, using violence against citizens) has been brought by the investigative department for the Verkh-Isetsky district of Yekaterinburg of the Investigative Committee of Russia against two local residents born in 2005 and 2006.

      According to the investigation, on the afternoon of June 6, 2026, while in the cabin of the route bus, the accused committed hooligan actions against a man who intervened on behalf of a girl with whom one of the suspects had been disrespectfully communicating shortly before. The accused used physical violence against their opponent and then fled the scene.

      "The information about this incident has received significant public resonance. The brazen behavior of the offenders was recorded by surveillance cameras in the bus. Following the incident, the territorial investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia immediately initiated a criminal case, within which investigative actions and operational search activities were conducted, as a result of which the identities of the suspects were established, and they were detained," the regional Investigative Committee's message states.

      Considering the established circumstances, investigators appealed to the court with motions for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention for the detainees. The court granted these motions.

      Currently, a range of procedural actions is ongoing in the criminal case to collect and secure the evidence base.

      It was previously reported that one of the accused, A.I. Igidov, had been arrested. It was noted that he was taken into custody back in mid-June.
