In Yekaterinburg, Vainera Street has been closed to pedestrians.
In Yekaterinburg, the main pedestrian street of the city, Vainera, has been closed. A large-scale reconstruction has begun here. Now, it is only possible to walk along the shopping centers "Passage" and "Uspensky."
As reported by the Telegram channel "Yekaterinburg. Main," one of the features of the reconstruction will be the installation of LED paving stones. About 50 lighting complexes, new small architectural forms, video surveillance systems, and alert systems will also be installed on the street. In addition, specialists will update the greenery and modernize the drainage system.
The main focus of the project is on greening the area. More than a thousand plants are planned to be planted on Vainera in special planters. Among them are Siberian apple trees, gray spiraea, panicle hydrangea, Fassen catnip, common yarrow, and mountain pine. The total area of flower beds will exceed 350 square meters.
The improvement will also affect the adjacent Popova street. There, the asphalt concrete surface will be replaced with concrete tiles, and lawns will be arranged along the section.
In addition, work will take place in the Theater Lane - on the section from Vainera street to Bank Lane. The space will be decorated with hanging garlands with a total length of almost 400 meters.
The work is expected to be completed by autumn 2027, but the authorities hope to finish ahead of schedule.
