In the Sverdlovsk region of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, two places were named where the flooding situation is the most difficult.
The Nizhneserginsky District and the city of Pervouralsk have become the epicenters of a rain flood that began on Monday, June 29, in the Sverdlovsk region against the backdrop of heavy rains.
“Emergency recovery operations in the Nizhneserginsky District and the village of Bilimbay are ongoing,” the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Sverdlovsk region reported.
On the evening of June 29, due to heavy rain, the water level in the river (the Serga River flows through the settlement - note from Uralweb.ru) and its tributaries in the Nizhneserginsky District and the Patruzhikha River in Pervouralsk rose.
In Nizhnie Sergi, the pedestrian bridge on Zhukov Street was destroyed by water. “Due to the washing away of the shoreline, the Zastavka River overflowed, flooding 50 residential houses where 120 people live,” the press service of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. The maximum water level did not exceed 20 centimeters.
Ten people, including 2 children, arrived at the temporary accommodation point set up by the administration. No information about casualties has been received. Water is being pumped out of basements and cellars using motor pumps. Information is being collected, and the flooded areas are being counted.
In turn, in the village of Bilimbay near Pervouralsk, the increase in the water level in the Patruzhikha River led to the flooding of 29 private residential houses on Oleg Koshevoy, Lermontov, and Nekrasov Streets. The population does not require evacuation.
Emergency services, primarily the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, are working to clear the riverbeds. A total of 104 people and 25 units of equipment are involved in eliminating the consequences of the flooding (including 68 people and 13 units of equipment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations).
Recall that the rain flood began in the Sverdlovsk region on Monday, June 29, after heavy rains. It affected 8 municipal districts. According to meteorologists' forecasts, precipitation will continue until Thursday.
Earlier, a severe flood due to heavy rain occurred in Nizhnie Sergi in late summer 2020. The water swept away several bridges. Five private houses were demolished, and another 34 damaged houses were deemed repairable.
