The Kamensk-Uralsky court sent the Infiniti driver, who caused an accident with four fatalities, to pre-trial detention.
In Kamensk-Uralsky, the court has chosen a preventive measure for Infiniti driver Nikita Trukhin, accused of causing the death of 4 people in a traffic accident on July 2, the press service of the Sverdlovsk region courts reports.
According to the version of the preliminary investigation agency, while driving an Infiniti car and performing a U-turn maneuver, the accused Trukhin failed to yield to an oncoming VAZ-2110 vehicle. As a result, a head-on collision occurred.
The driver and three passengers of the domestic vehicle died at the scene from their injuries. Additionally, two passengers of the foreign car sustained varying degrees of bodily injuries.
Trukhin has been charged under paragraph "a" of part 6 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules by a person driving a vehicle in a state of intoxication, resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence").
The Sinar District Court of Kamensk-Uralsky granted the investigation's request to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention until September 2 against Nikita Trukhin. The court ruling has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed by the parties in the appellate order.
