The Yekaterinburg police department reported on the Infiniti driver who caused the death of four people in a car accident.
The Yekaterinburg police achieved a court order to arrest the driver of the "Infinity" who caused a traffic accident in Kamensk-Uralsky resulting in 4 fatalities, reports the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region.
"The court proceedings involved representatives of the law enforcement agencies, senior assistant prosecutor of the city Elena Shisterova, judge Alexandra Moskaleva, and relatives of the victims of the car accident," the Yekaterinburg police department stated on its page on VKontakte.
The detained, 27-year-old local resident Nikita Trukhin, addressed the families of the deceased and asked for their forgiveness. However, as noted by the head of the press service of the Sverdlovsk police Valery Gorelykh, the defendant "did not express that he realized his involvement in the tragedy" and protested against the measure of restraint in the form of isolation from society. In simpler terms, he hardly realized that four people died because of him.
The victims of the drunk driver included three men and a woman in the oncoming car - born in 2001, 1991, and 2002. "The investigation showed that at the time of the accident he was in a state of severe alcohol intoxication - 0.612 mg/l," noted Colonel Gorelykh. None of the three people in the "Infinity" - Trukhin and his two male passengers - required hospitalization.
The Infiniti car was purchased by the defendant in April 2026. Trukhin has 14 traffic violations.
Early in the morning on July 2 at 04:10, the police received a report that on the outskirts of Kamensk-Uralsky, the driver of a foreign car failed to yield at an uncontrolled intersection while turning left and collided with an oncoming VAZ-2110.
All those in the "ten" died at the scene. It later became known that the car contained the driver with his wife and the driver's colleagues. They were all on their way to work. The men worked as drivers - delivering bread.
The Sinara District Court of Kamensk-Uralsky, having reviewed the materials from the police investigative unit, agreed with the arguments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and arrested the accused. For the next two months until September 2, Nikita Trukhin will remain in custody.
Police investigators continue a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the horrific traffic accident, and forensic medical examinations and a comprehensive video-technical examination will be appointed in the near future.
