A state of emergency has been declared in a large city in the Sverdlovsk region.
The authorities of Irbit have introduced a municipal-level state of emergency due to the worsening flood situation. The decision was made at a meeting of the emergency situations commission with the participation of emergency services, law enforcement agencies, and city services.
According to the latest data, the water level in the Nice River has reached 741 centimeters. The city administration noted that specialists, together with the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region, continue to monitor changes in the hydrological situation almost continuously.
For residents who will need evacuation from the flood zone, a temporary accommodation point has been set up at the ski base in Sosnovaya Rosha. It will start receiving people today. Additionally, a group of 10 specialists and two boats from the regional Rescue Service will be sent to Irbit.
