Doctors at the Krasnoufimsk District Hospital helped 91-year-old resident Lyudmila Fritzko recover after a hip fracture. Thanks to a high-tech hip replacement surgery, the pensioner was able to stand on her own the very next day after the procedure.
The woman sustained her injury after an accident. When she was exiting a store, a strong gust of wind knocked her off her feet. At the hospital, which is an inter-municipal trauma center, the patient was diagnosed with a hip fracture.
For elderly people, such an injury often leads to prolonged immobility and loss of the ability to move independently. However, the doctors decided to perform joint replacement surgery, believing that the patient's condition allowed for a successful recovery.
The operation was successful. Now, Lyudmila Fritzko feels well and moves with the help of a cane. Her return to an active life has been a great joy for her family—children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
