In Serov, the court issued a verdict against a local resident who caused a riot in a grocery store with an axe. The woman was found guilty of hooliganism with the use of a weapon.
As established by the court, the incident occurred on February 1, 2026. After purchasing alcohol, the local resident returned home but soon decided that the store clerk had looked at her "in a somehow inappropriate way." Taking an axe, the woman returned to the store.
In the store, she smashed display cases and refrigeration equipment. Fearing for their lives, the employees hid in the warehouse and called the police. The damage caused exceeded 259 thousand rubles.
The police who arrived at the scene detained the offender. During the court proceedings, she fully admitted her guilt, expressed remorse, and stated that she did not intend to harm anyone.
The Serov District Court sentenced the woman to 2 years and 6 months of compulsory labor with 10% of her salary withheld for the state. In addition, the court partially satisfied the claim for compensation for material damage, recovering 159,439 rubles from the convicted woman. She also voluntarily paid 100 thousand rubles to the victim. The woman was also ordered to pay 50 thousand rubles as compensation for moral damage.
