A resident of Yekaterinburg was sentenced to 10 days in jail for using foul language.

      On August 9, 2026, in Yekaterinburg, a local resident was sent to a special detention facility for telling obscene jokes loudly on the street at night.

      The accused showed clear disrespect for society, according to court documents cited by RIA Novosti. He was using foul language in a public place and later refused to get into a police service vehicle—he grabbed the officer's uniform and tried to hit him, actively resisting.

      A protocol was drawn up against him under the Administrative Offenses Code for petty hooliganism, coupled with disobedience to the lawful demand of a representative of the authorities.

      In court, the hooligan claimed that he was just with friends on the street telling jokes. However, he fully admitted his guilt, expressed remorse, and asked not to be punished severely. The court sentenced the man to 10 days of administrative arrest, emphasizing that the punishment meets the requirements of justice and corresponds to the goals of preventing new offenses.
