"The main reason is the misuse of toilets: many residents flush waste that should be disposed of at landfills, rather than flushing it into the sewage system," explained the employees of "Vodokanal NT" on their page on "VKontakte."
Collectors are regularly clogged with rags, construction material remnants, cotton swabs, cat litter, diapers, and personal hygiene products.
"The resulting multi-kilogram clogs do not clear themselves; they have to be removed manually using special equipment," said representatives from "Vodokanal NT."
Due to these issues, there are spills from sewer manholes, which disrupt the normal operation of the wastewater drainage system and create a serious epidemiological threat to passersby, residents, and the city as a whole.
