A resident of the Sverdlovsk region is accused of aiding terrorism for paid reactions in Telegram.
A resident of Nizhny Tagil, Ilya Pylaev, has been arrested on charges of financing a terrorist organization. According to the investigation, Pylaev placed paid reactions (so-called "stars") under the posts of a user recognized as being involved in terrorist activities in the Telegram messenger, notes the portal 66.RU. "Using the messenger, Pylaev transferred money to support a person involved in the activities of a terrorist organization subordinate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine," reports the unified press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk region, citing investigation data.
The total amount of transfers was 1,148 rubles and 29 kopecks. The charges were brought under part 1.1 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - "Assistance to terrorist activities in the form of financing."
The Leninsky District Court of Nizhny Tagil granted the investigator's request to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention for two months, until October 4. The ruling can be appealed to the Sverdlovsk Regional Court within 3 days, noted the press service of the region's courts. Previously, a lawyer explained that donations to an extremist organization under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on financing extremist activities could lead to up to eight years of imprisonment.
