A project for the development of another huge area was presented in Yekaterinburg.
In Yekaterinburg, a project for the comprehensive development of an area of nearly 35 hectares within the boundaries of Machine, Lugansk, Base Lane streets, and the Iset River has been presented. Currently, there are about 136.8 thousand square meters of housing, and in the future, this figure is planned to be increased more than threefold - to 429 thousand "squares."
The population of the area may grow from 4.5 thousand to 14.3 thousand people. Along with the new buildings, plans include the construction of two kindergartens for 200 and 350 places, a school for 1,125 students, a children's art school for 233 people, a library, and spaces for creative clubs.
Among the transportation changes are the reconstruction of Base Lane under the overpass on Lugansk, the construction of new entrances and exits, as well as a tram line along Machine and Lugansk. In addition, there are plans to launch bus services here. Nearly 3.8 thousand parking spaces are provided for cars.
The authors of the project note that a significant part of the area is currently free from development. At the same time, the district lacks places for mass recreation: the provision is about 25 thousand square meters with a normative need of 171 thousand square meters. As part of the project, promises are made to improve the embankment, streets, and yards.
Public discussions of the project will last until September 1.
