      In Berezovsky, residents took a cat away from children due to cruel treatment. This was reported by the public group "The Strength of Berezovsky is in People" on the social network VKontakte, citing a message from city dwellers.

      In a video sent by eyewitnesses to the public group’s editorial office, a girl is seen walking the cat on a leash. According to the authors of the message, she was allowing rough treatment of the pet—dragging it behind her and lifting it into the air by the harness.

      Eyewitnesses could not watch this calmly and took the cat away. They do not plan to return it to its previous owners, as neighbors told the rescuers that such incidents occur regularly during walks, the public group reports.

      The animal was shown to specialists at a veterinary clinic yesterday. Animal rights activists are already stating that such treatment is traumatic and unacceptable.

      Meanwhile, the cat's owners are demanding the return of the animal and threatening to file a police report.
