In the Urals, a verdict was delivered to the driver of a "Mazda" who intentionally ran over a traffic police officer.

The Krasnouralsk City Court has issued a verdict in the criminal case regarding the use of violence against a traffic police officer while on duty, the Sverdlovsk region prosecutor's office reported on Friday.

During the court proceedings, it was established that the defendant, Airat Mansurov, born in 1998, while intoxicated, was driving a "Mazda 3" in Krasnouralsk on the night of February 6 to 7, 2026, and, having been noticed by the traffic police officers, did not comply with their lawful demand to stop.

Instead, Mansurov attempted to flee. His path was blocked by a traffic police inspector who exited the patrol car and stood in front of the offender's "Mazda," demanding that he turn off the engine and exit the vehicle. As a result, the defendant ran over the officer, causing an injury to his leg. The inspector ended up on the hood.

Mansurov was charged under part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of violence against a representative of authority in connection with the performance of his official duties).

The defendant fully admitted his guilt in committing the incriminated act. The court sentenced him to one year of compulsory labor, with 10% of his salary withheld for the benefit of the state.

"In addition, the court, guided by article 104.1, part 1 of article 104.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, confiscated from the convicted person and transferred to state ownership an amount exceeding 363 thousand rubles, equivalent to the value of the 'Mazda 3' vehicle used in the commission of the crime," the regional prosecutor's office stated.
