Another Yekaterinburg resident, Yulia, added that her son cannot get into the second grade.
"I signed up with the director of the Governor's Lyceum, but he was on vacation. The deputy rudely sent me away and threw out my application. They couldn't even schedule an appointment at School No. 215. I physically cannot manage everything — I need to bring the child from Sunny to Vtorchermet, pick him up, take him to training on Engels Street, and do this every day," she shared.
The two current schools in Sunny cannot handle the load, but they cannot accommodate more students there.
The Yekaterinburg Department of Education advised everyone who finds themselves in such a situation to be patient. They also explained what can be done:
- Visit the district education office (Sunny belongs to the Chkalovsky district). They will make a selection of schools with available spots.
- You will need to choose one of these schools and take your child there.
- During the year, spots may open up in the school. You can monitor this on the "Yekaterinburg.rf" portal.
- You can also write a letter to the director of your chosen school, requesting they contact you as soon as a spot in the first grade becomes available.
