In Yekaterinburg, a woman accused of murder absconded from court.
In Yekaterinburg, a woman accused of murdering her common-law partner has escaped from court. The crime occurred last spring in the Chkalovsky District. Proceedings in the criminal case have been suspended since February.
The man was killed on March 19, 2024. According to preliminary information, the woman stabbed him during an argument.
"Both moved to Yekaterinburg from another city. He worked as an electronics salesman, she as a dishwasher. Suddenly their relationship soured. Later they stopped working and began living off the money from the sale of the young man's mother's apartment," a source told Ura.Ru.
All this led to the murder.
"He was sleeping, she was knocking on the apartment door, the neighbors opened it. The couple went into the kitchen when a knock sounded. The woman stabbed her partner in the rib with a knife. The neighbors saw the man lying in a pool of blood. They called an ambulance and tried to save the victim, but they could not," a local resident continued.
The woman threw the knife out the window, changed her clothes and left while law enforcement officers were on their way. She was found in Botanika; she had allegedly tried to alter her appearance.
The trial began in July 2024. In court she said she had struck him in self-defense. However, neither the neighbors nor their acquaintances confirmed this version. There were no reports of similar incidents. The woman, however, often asked her partner for money.
According to Ura.Ru, the woman from the Urals was under a travel ban. In January 2025 she went into hiding. In March the Chkalovsky District Court ordered the defendant's arrest in absentia.
