Security forces granted the 'last wish' of a detainee in Yekaterinburg who was a member of the 'car wash gang'.
The Sverdlovsk Main Directorate of the Interior Ministry revealed the "romantic" details of the circumstances surrounding the arrest of a member of the "car-wash gang" from Kamensk‑Uralsky who had been on the federal wanted list.
22‑year‑old Alexander Bespalov, who had been on the run, was detained in Yekaterinburg the day before.
"The man in question had been on the federal wanted list for a long time. A native of Yekaterinburg, he was celebrating his birthday on August 29 at a rented apartment, but the celebration was interrupted by police officers," commented Valeriy Gorelykh, head of the press service of the Sverdlovsk Main Directorate of the Interior Ministry. "At the time of his arrest the suspect offered no resistance; he was detained and taken into custody. When they were 'taking' him and snapping handcuffs on his wrists, he asked the detectives for permission to hug his girlfriend, since he understood they would not be seeing each other for a while."
Currently one more member of the Kamensk gang remains on the federal wanted list — the 16th in number, a man named Ryabov, born in 2007.
"He has gone into hiding somewhere. Detectives advise him not to worsen the situation and to surrender to the police voluntarily," Colonel Gorelykh said.
