A new lyceum will open on the banks of the Iset River in Yekaterinburg.
In Yekaterinburg’s Zarechny microdistrict, a new lyceum is planned. It will become part of the future campus of the Ural State Law University and will be located on a site between the Iset River and Gotvald Street. Currently there is only one lyceum in the district — No. 12.
At the Ural State Law University they clarify that the campus project is planned through 2036 and is already in the preparation stage. According to preliminary plans, the site will include an academic building of 13,000 sq. m, a dormitory of 12,000 sq. m, and a humanities and law lyceum. In addition, the possibility of relocating the Arbitration Court of the Ural District here is being considered.
Currently the Arbitration Court is located in the building of the former Ural regional executive committee at 32/27 Lenin Avenue.
The future campus will be located within the parcel in the area of Gotvald and Tokarey streets. The area will be developed as part of a comprehensive development program: it will include not only facilities of the Ural State Law University, but also new housing, offices and buildings for students of the Ural State University of Railway Transport (UrGUPS).
According to Yekaterinburg’s mayor Aleksey Orlov, the project involves bringing federal lands that are currently unused into circulation:
“The university has an urgent need for a modern educational complex, as well as rental housing for students and staff,” Orlov said earlier.
